LAN Wireless Connection

A LAN wireless connection requires the following components:

  • LAN wireless component
  • Remote access point

Connect Through Your Existing Network

Choose your cellular provider.
The AngelTrax LAN Wireless Component and Remote Access Point allow wireless (Wi-Fi and WiMAX) connectivity between your AngelTrax Hybrid Quest™ or Hybrid Vault™ DVR and your existing wireless network. Once within range of your wireless network, each vehicle will upload its marked events and DVR health status notifications for that day, including that day's audio and video files to an on-site server for storage and review. All audio and video files are recorded in AngelTrax's proprietary, encrypted format and can only be played back through AngelTrax proprietary playback software. This safeguards the data from digital tampering and makes it secure enough to be presented as evidence in court.

LAN Wireless Component

The LAN Wireless Component is an internal DVR tray that connects your DVR to the Remote Access Point, linking it wirelessly with your existing network and allowing your DVR to upload recorded audio and video footage and send out DVR health notifications. (An external WLAN component is also available for previous AngelTrax HC Series DVRs.)

Remote Access Point

The AngelTrax Remote Access Point works in combination with the WLAN wireless component to provide connectivity between the AngelTrax mobile DVR system and your existing wireless network. Its priority selection feature ensures that the DVR will only connect and transmit to your specific wireless network, keeping your data secure.

GSM Wireless Connection

A GSM wireless connection requires the following components:

  • LAN wireless component
  • 3G/4G modem
  • GSM (air) card

Connect Through Cellular Signal

Choose your cellular provider.
The AngelTrax 3G/4G modem works in combination with the LAN Wireless Component and a GSM (air) card to provide access to mobile wireless networks through a cellular service provider (required for WiMAX). This maintains connectivity to your on-site server and the Internet anywhere there is a cellular signal, not just when your vehicles are in range of your facility's wireless network. This constant wireless connectivity allows the DVR to send out notifications instantly as they happen and allows the user to access a live view of a vehicle's audio and video feeds in the field. All transmitted audio and video data is encoded with AngelTrax proprietary, encrypted format, preventing any digital tampering.

3G/4G Modem

The AngelTrax 3G/4G modem houses the GSM (air) card and provides connectivity through cellular towers and mobile networks.

Choose Your Carrier

The AngelTrax 3G/4G modem requires a GSM (air) card and monthly plan from a cellular provider to maintain connectivity through cellular towers and mobile networks. Clients have the option of purchasing both a card and plan through AngelTrax or providing their own wireless network. This continual connectivity is required for instant DVR health notifications and access to live view. The AngelTrax wireless modem is compatible with most GSM (air) cards from all major carriers.
